    He’s not wrong. Too many fake jobs. But this is the wrong way to go about it. Have an amnesty on day one. “you know you do nothing all day. Leave.” That’ll maybe make a handful of the people grow a conscious and leave. The rest of them if they are arrogant enough to stay then let the chips fall where they may.

      You may be disqualified from receiving unemployment if you quit.

      If you really believe they are there for a fake job, why would they suddenly "grow a conscious and leave" and risk unemployment benefits.

      David Graeber talked about 'Bullshit Jobs' over a decade ago, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullshit_Jobs and proposed strong unions and universal basic income as a potential solution - the latter makes it easier to quit a fake job.

      Do people know they have a fake job? Is it actually a fake job? On HN you'll see a lot of people say they have a bullshit job, while others say it isn't bullshit work, it just feels like that to the employee, and still other say they don't have a bullshit job but it might look that to others.
