This will go down in history as a prime example of seemingly smart people seemingly wanting to do good but ending up opening pandora's box
> We commit to use any influence we obtain over AGI’s deployment to ensure it is used for the benefit of all, and to avoid enabling uses of AI or AGI that harm humanity or unduly concentrate power.
lmao, we truly didn't learn shit, or even worse forgot things, since Descartes, it would be funny if it wasn't such a serious topic
We know that all technology is a double-edged sword.
Much has been lost to man-made fire, entire villages, cities, even humans purposefully lit on fire and made to burn while others watched. It can be used for great evil.
But given the choice, would you put it back in the box?
Eh, seems more like a shitty company through and through that did all the evil things they possibly could just to make money.
1. Minimal contributions for the first 5 years.
2. LLM technology gets developed and shared by other, supposedly "evil", corporations (i.e., Google and Meta).
3. LLM tech is promptly copied and exposed to the public with zero regard for the consequences, while the "evil" corporations are deciding on the safe rollout. Obvious flag-planting since the company has nothing else to show for itself.
4. Actively try to sabotage competition by cozying up with the government under the pretense of regulation.
5. The never-ending fear-mongering, exaggerations, plain lies, and carrots on a stick.

imo, this happens quite often. Single-focused direction can cause harmful consequences.
